MEDIATION

A confidential path to resolution — on your terms.

Mediation is a voluntary, confidential process in which a neutral mediator helps parties communicate, understand each other's interests, and reach a mutually acceptable agreement.

What is Mediation?

Unlike arbitration or litigation, mediation is non-adjudicative — the mediator does not decide the outcome. Instead, the mediator facilitates dialogue, helps parties identify their underlying interests, and guides them toward a solution they craft themselves. Agreements reached in mediation are typically more durable and satisfying than court-imposed outcomes.

How It Works

1

Opening Session

The mediator explains the process, ground rules, and confidentiality protections.

2

Joint Discussion

Each party shares their perspective and what they hope to achieve.

3

Private Caucuses

The mediator meets privately with each party to explore interests and options.

4

Negotiation

The mediator facilitates offers, counter-offers, and creative problem-solving.

5

Agreement

If the parties reach agreement, it is documented in a written settlement agreement.
