EEOC MEDIATION

Resolving workplace discrimination charges — voluntarily.

As a contract mediator for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, ReSync helps employers and employees resolve discrimination charges through a confidential, voluntary mediation process.

What is EEOC Mediation?

The EEOC's mediation program offers parties an early, voluntary opportunity to resolve discrimination charges before a formal investigation begins. Participation is free to both parties through the EEOC program. A neutral mediator facilitates a confidential discussion that can result in a binding settlement — saving both sides the time, cost, and uncertainty of a full EEOC investigation or litigation.

How It Works

1

EEOC Referral

After a charge is filed, the EEOC offers both parties the opportunity to participate in mediation.

2

Voluntary Agreement

Both the charging party and the employer must agree to participate.

3

Mediation Session

A trained EEOC mediator facilitates a confidential session — typically lasting one day.

4

Settlement

If the parties reach agreement, a binding settlement agreement is signed. The charge is dismissed.

5

No Agreement

If mediation does not resolve the charge, the EEOC investigation proceeds normally.
